FAQ

Permanent Makeup

What is Powdered Brows?

Powder Brows is designed with a digital cosmetic machine. For Powder Brows we mimic the stippling movement done in painting and drawing to create a filled in brow which looks very similar to makeup! The stippling movement is done by ‘drawing’ dots that produce a color throughout the brow. This is our personal favorite service.

What is Combo Brows?

Combo brows are a mix of both Micro Blading and Powdered Brows for the best of both worlds! This technique creates perfect, soft micro-bladed fronts with the added powdered definition through the brow.

What is Micro Blading?

WE NO LONGER OFFER MICRO BLADING

What is Lash Enhancement Liner?

Lash Enhancement liner is a way of tattooing a natural looking eyeliner. A Black or Brown line is tattooed in between the lashes, giving the appearance of fuller and thicker lashes.

What is Permanent Eyeliner?

Eyeliner is the next step above a lash enhancement liner. The Placement of this liner gets its name because the pigment is up onto the eyelid. Creating an eye opening look!

What is Lip Blushing?

Lip Blushing is a form of tattooing the lips to create a more defined lip line and natural lip color. This treatment involves shading and lining the lips to achieve a natural-looking tint. This technique does not produce a lipstick look but more of a lip stain.

Eyelash Extensions

What are Eyelash Extensions?

Eyelash extensions are semi-permanent fibers that are attached to your natural eyelashes in order to make your lash fringe look longer, fuller, and darker. Individual lash extensions are applied to each of your individual natural eyelashes (one extension per natural eyelash) using a semi-permanent glue. We offer a variety of extension lengths, curl patterns, and tints so clients can customize their look.

What Style of Eyelash Extensions Are Offered?

1. Classic – a single placed lash extension placed onto all of your natural lashes, creating a natural look.

2. Hybrid- two different types of lashes mixed to create a more makeup effect, a combination of classic and volume lashes.

3. Volume- multiple lashes places on a single lash creating a look similar to a strip lash look.

4.Mega Volume- aka Russian Volume

How Long Do Eyelash Extenstions Last?

As with the hair on your head, eyelashes follow a natural cycle of shedding and regrowth. All of your lashes are at a different stage at any point in time, which means that some of your lashes are getting ready to shed while others are experiencing a period of growth (this is true if you have eyelash extensions or not). Since an individual extension is applied to an individual lash, that extension will fall out on its own when the eyelash sheds from the lash line. Typically 2-3.5 weeks before needing a fill.

Are Eyelash Extensions Damaging?

Lash extensions alone will not ruin your lashes. Damage to the natural lashes is the result of improper application. There are a few main factors that contribute to this problem: Applying extensions that are too heavy for the natural lash will result in premature shedding. Rubbing your eyes will also result in immediate breakage. You can do everything right and still find that eyelash extensions cause breakage to your natural eyelashes. There are factors that you have no control over (like if you rub your eyes in your sleep or if you genetically have a faster lash cycle than what is considered normal) that can compromise your natural lashes—including causing your natural lashes to fall out or break off. Keep in mind though, eyelashes are hair—and unless you have a pre-existing condition or circumstance, hair grows back. Which means your eyelashes will grow back. While damage to your natural eyelashes is certainly not ideal (nor is it sustainable over time), any breakage or fallout should resolve itself in 1-3 months, as part of a typical lash growth cycle. We also have a lash extension safe growth serum to help prevent this feeling.

Eyelash Lift & Tint

What is A Lash Lift and Tint?

The lash lift mimics the effect of an eyelash curler. It makes your lashes bend upwards, leaving them looking longer, and your eyes more open and bright. Meanwhile, a lash tint is tinting your natural lashes darker using typically black or brown. With the final result looking darker and longer lashes with no makeup.

How Long Does A Lash Lift Last?

A lash lift isn’t permanent. The effects fade with time, and after a few weeks, you may find yourself once again reaching for the mascara. In general, a lash lift lasts for around 4 to 6 weeks, but this can vary depending on your lashes.

How Often Can I Get My Lashes Lifted and Tinted?

You may re lift your lashes every 8 weeks and re tint your lashes every 4 weeks.

Are Lash Lifts Damaging?

No, lash lifts should not damage your lashes. Even if you end up with a lash lift that goes a little wrong, the effects of the procedure are only semi-permanent. Eyelashes naturally fall out and regrow every 4 to 6 weeks, so you won’t have to worry about damaging your lashes long term. We suggest using Elleeplex that is sold at the salon to help condition the lashes after the service.

No, this removal is not a laser. Xtract® is a non-laser, holistic tattoo removal process which works synergistically with the cells for the removal of ink and other toxins associated with the tattoo process. Xtract® Ink is relatively new to the industry.

Xtract® is a patented technology for Ink removal, Scar remodeling and Skin rejuvenation. Xtract® products are a perfect combination of science meets nature. How Does Xtract Work?

Yes, Xtract® is very different from the average saline tattoo removal product. Xtract® removal is a 4-part process. Xtract® Activation Serum does contain Himalayan Saline, however unlike standard saline removal Xtract® only contains less than 1% saline because it has been proven anything above 10% in a hypertonic solution suppresses the immune system. Xtract® works synergistically with the immune system not against it. Step 1: Xtract® has a proprietary needling technique to minimize epidermal exfoliation to ensure the integrity of the skin and hair follicles. Step 2: Xtract® Activation Serum also utilizes 1,3 Beta Glucan to stimulate the macrophage cells to release tattoo ink. It does this by tricking the body into thinking there is a yeast invasion in the worked area. Not only does this let the stagnant macrophage cells release the ink, but it triggers more macrophage cells to come to the area and remove the ink. Step 3: Xtract® Withdrawal Mask traps the ink at the surface of the skin removing 50% more ink than just the serum alone. It contains over 74 natural occurring minerals exhilarating the healing process and reducing localized inflammation by increasing local oxygen. It utilizes Ink Chelation Technology™ to draw heavy metals, toxins and allergens to the surface of the skin through a binding of positive and negative ions. Step 4: Xtract® utilizes moist wound healing which allows the continuation of the Chelation of ink and also allows growth factors to move freely to minimize scar potential and proven to heal 3-5x’s faster. Throughout the moist wound healing process we utilize Xtract® DNA Repair Serum that contains patented Zinc Finger Technology℗ which activates the body’s natural remodeling process to remove scar tissue, normalize pigmentation and accelerate healing. It also contains a second Patented ingredient AC-11℗ which is clinically proven to improve DNA repair by 33%.

How Many Sessions are Needed?

Sessions may take anywhere from 3-12 sessions.

What Are The Advantage of Xtract?
  • Xtract® works with the cells of the body for the removal of ink and toxins by stimulating an immune response
  • Xtract® utilizes AC-11℗ which is clinically proven to improve DNA repair by 33%

Temporary Tattoos- GEL

What is Jauga Gel?
  • Jagua is a temporary tattoo product that colors the skin a blue-black color. Jagua comes from the Genipa Americana tree, which can be found in the jungles of South America. Jagua has been used for body ornamentation and medicinal purposes by the indigenous people of the Amazon for centuries.
How Long Do They Last?
  • Depending on skin type, life style, and such will be a factor in your longevity of your tattoo. Typically it lasts 14 days.
Does it hurt?
  • No. The skin is never pierced and it does not hurt. The gel is applied, like henna, on top of the skin, and it only penetrates the uppermost layer of the skin. The application of jagua gel to the skin is 100% pain-free.
Is There An Age Limit?
  • No. It is safe for everyone, even pregnant women.
Are There Any Side Effects?

No. As with anything else in the natural world, however, allergic reactions are always possible, depending on the individual (think peanuts or strawberries). It is known that certain drugs can sensitize the skin to things such as sunlight and certain topical preparations. Therefore, we recommend that people taking medication check first with their doctor before applying jagua (or anything else, for that matter) on their skin. In addition, it is always prudent to do a small patch test first before attempting a full-size tattoo.

  • Something else to consider: jagua is a fruit. Anyone with sensitivities to fruit should definitely do a patch test first.

Sugaring vs Waxing

What is sugaring

Sugaring is a method of hair removal that uses a natural paste made from sugar, lemon juice, and water. It’s similar to waxing but with a few key differences in both technique and ingredients. The sugar paste is typically applied at room temperature or slightly warmed, and it adheres to the hair rather than the skin. Here’s a breakdown of how it works:

How It’s Done:

  1. Application: The sugaring paste is applied in the opposite direction of hair growth, using the hands or a spatula.
  2. Removal: The paste is then quickly removed in the direction of hair growth, which is thought to be gentler on the skin compared to waxing, where the hair is pulled against its natural direction.
  3. Clean-Up: Because the paste is water-soluble, it can be easily wiped away with water, leaving minimal residue.

What's the difference between waxing and sugaring

Both sugaring and waxing are effective hair removal methods, but sugaring is often favored for its gentler approachnatural ingredients, and less painful experience, while waxing is more common and may be preferred by those looking for a quicker, more accessible method. If you have sensitive skin or prefer a more natural treatment, sugaring might be a better option. If you're seeking a more cost-effective solution, waxing could be your go-to.

what is waxing?

Waxing is a popular hair removal method that involves applying a sticky, warm wax to the skin, which adheres to the hair. The wax is then quickly removed, pulling the hair out from the root. This process leaves the skin smooth and can keep hair from growing back for several weeks. Waxing can be done on various areas of the body, such as the legs, arms, bikini line, and face.

How It Works:

  1. Application: Warm wax is spread over the skin in the direction of hair growth, using either a spatula or roller.
  2. Adhesion: A cloth or paper strip is pressed onto the wax, then quickly pulled off in the opposite direction of hair growth, removing hair from the root.

Benefits:

  1. Long-lasting: Results typically last 3-6 weeks.
  2. Smooth skin: Waxing removes hair from the root, leading to smoother skin.
  3. Exfoliating: The process also removes dead skin cells, leaving skin soft.

Drawbacks:

  1. Pain: It can be painful, especially in sensitive areas.
  2. Risk of irritation: The wax can cause redness or bumps in some people.
  3. Hair length: Hair needs to be a certain length (usually ¼ inch) for effective removal.

Waxing is effective and widely used,

What Type of Massage Add On Should I Choose?

What Is Deep Tissue?

Deep Tissue Add-On is an additional service offered during a massage treatment, where the therapist applies deeper pressure to target specific areas of tension, tightness, or muscle pain. This technique focuses on the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue to help relieve chronic muscle stiffness, knots, or stress.

How It Works:

  1. The therapist uses firm, concentrated pressure and slower strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle tissue.
  2. It's often used for specific areas like the neck, shoulders, back, or legs.

Benefits:

  1. Relieves chronic pain: Helps break up muscle knots and tension.
  2. Improves mobility: Can improve flexibility and reduce muscle stiffness.
  3. Reduces stress: Promotes relaxation while addressing muscle pain.

What Are Hot Stones?

Hot Stones are smooth, heated stones used during a massage to promote relaxation and relieve muscle tension. The stones are typically made of basalt, a type of volcanic rock that retains heat well. They are placed on specific areas of the body or used by the therapist as part of the massage technique.

How It Works:

  1. Placement: Heated stones are placed on key points of the body, like the back, shoulders, or legs, to relax muscles and improve circulation.
  2. Massage: The therapist may also use the stones to gently massage the body, applying pressure to release tight muscles.

Benefits:

  1. Deep muscle relaxation: The heat helps muscles relax more deeply, making it easier to address tension and tightness.
  2. Improves circulation: The warmth promotes better blood flow, which can aid in healing and reduce soreness.
  3. Stress relief: The combination of heat and soothing massage helps calm the nervous system and promotes a deep sense of relaxation.
  4. Pain relief: Especially helpful for chronic pain or areas of intense muscle stiffness.

Ideal for:

  1. People with muscle tension or stiffness.
  2. Those who want a deeply relaxing experience with the added benefit of heat therapy.

What Is Dry Brushing?

Dry Brushing is a technique where you use a dry, stiff-bristled brush to exfoliate and stimulate the skin. The process involves brushing the skin in long, sweeping motions, usually toward the heart, to improve circulation, remove dead skin cells, and promote lymphatic drainage.

How It Works:

  1. Brush Selection: A firm, natural-bristle brush is used, typically with a long handle for easier reach.
  2. Technique: The skin is brushed in long strokes, usually starting from the feet and moving upward toward the heart, or from the hands toward the chest. The strokes should be firm but not painful.

Benefits:

  1. Exfoliates skin: Removes dead skin cells, leaving the skin feeling smoother and softer.
  2. Boosts circulation: The brushing action stimulates blood flow, which can promote healthier skin.
  3. Promotes lymphatic drainage: Encourages the flow of lymph fluid, helping to remove toxins from the body.
  4. Reduces appearance of cellulite: Some people report a temporary reduction in the appearance of cellulite after regular dry brushing.
  5. Improves skin texture: Regular use can help refine skin texture, making it look more vibrant.

Ideal for:

  1. Those looking for a natural exfoliation method.
  2. People interested in improving circulation or detoxification.
  3. Anyone wanting to enhance their skincare routine with an additional step.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a therapeutic practice that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears, known as "reflex zones," which are believed to correspond to different organs and systems in the body. The goal is to promote relaxation, improve circulation, and support the body’s natural healing processes.

How It Works:

  1. Pressure Points: Reflexologists use their hands, fingers, or thumbs to apply varying degrees of pressure to specific points on the feet, hands, or ears.
  2. Mapping: The reflex points are mapped out based on the belief that each point is connected to a specific area of the body, such as the liver, heart, or digestive system.
  3. Treatment: The therapist applies targeted pressure to these points to help restore balance and improve overall health.

Benefits:

  1. Stress Relief: Reflexology can help reduce tension and promote relaxation.
  2. Improved Circulation: The pressure helps stimulate blood flow, which can enhance the body’s healing process.
  3. Pain Relief: Some people find relief from chronic pain or headaches through reflexology.
  4. Better Sleep: Reflexology may help with insomnia or sleep disturbances by promoting relaxation.
  5. Digestive Health: It can help improve digestion and reduce symptoms of bloating or constipation.
  6. Boosts Immune System: The practice is believed to support the body’s natural detoxification and immune response.

Ideal for:

  1. Anyone seeking natural, non-invasive therapy for relaxation and wellness.
  2. People with specific health concerns (like chronic pain or stress) who want to complement other treatments.
  3. Those looking for a holistic approach to maintaining balance in body and mind.

Reflexology is often considered a form of complementary therapy, meaning it’s used alongside other treatments to enhance overall health and well-being.

What Is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is a holistic healing treatment that uses essential oils and plant extracts to promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being. These oils are often inhaled, massaged into the skin, or used in baths to provide therapeutic benefits.

How It Works:

  1. Essential Oils: Natural oils are extracted from plants, flowers, herbs, and fruits. Common oils include lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint, and tea tree.
  2. Application: Oils can be used in diffusers to create a calming atmosphere, applied topically (often diluted with a carrier oil) for massage or skincare, or added to baths for relaxation.
  3. Inhalation: Breathing in the scents can trigger emotional and physical responses, like relaxation or energy.

Benefits:

  1. Stress Reduction: Aromatherapy is widely known for its ability to reduce anxiety, promote relaxation, and improve sleep quality (e.g., lavender for calming).
  2. Pain Relief: Certain oils, like peppermint and eucalyptus, may help alleviate headaches, muscle aches, and joint pain.
  3. Boosting Mood: Oils like citrus (e.g., orange, lemon) can lift your mood and energize you.
  4. Improved Sleep: Lavender, chamomile, and sandalwood are often used to promote restful sleep.
  5. Skin Care: Tea tree oil, frankincense, and others are commonly used for skin issues like acne or irritation.

Ideal for:

  1. People seeking a natural way to manage stress, anxiety, or mood swings.
  2. Those looking for a non-invasive treatment to complement other wellness practices.
  3. Anyone wanting to enhance relaxation or improve overall well-being.

Aromatherapy is often used in spas, massage therapy, and as part of daily self-care routines. It can be a great way to support your health in a natural, soothing way.
